she was an artist
sold reasonably well
enough to get by
her life devoted
to her art reflected
her internal struggles
"Me"
they cried
unabashed to the world
as i drove her through
Paradise
the beauty of which
makes one gasp
for the first time
i noticed
she was blind
interesting, some of the artists i know are blind as well...one a painter, another a musician...i think it is pretty amazing what they do....a cool bit of irony
ReplyDeleteMy eye to hand coordination has never been good when it comes to art, but maybe I've been looking too much.
ReplyDeleteoh heck...i can understand how a blind musician plays...they have their ears even more developed i think but i'm just amazed at how a painter can do it..i think it's awesome
ReplyDeleteThis is not a literal poem . It is ironic - British style:)

How beautiful. I have a priest friend who is blind who is also a musician and composes as well. We can't let ourselves be limited, heh?
ReplyDeleteOK, I don't normally do explanations...she is not physically blind. She is blind to any natural beauty like a lot of folk who label themselves artists.
ReplyDeleteExcellent work
ReplyDeleteoh, this is crisp...touching....nice!
ReplyDeleteNow THAT is tough, being blind to the world around you. You've got to think it'd make her art somewhat shallow...
ReplyDeleteWow! What an unexpected ending. Beautifully done.
